Director of Communications

We will be looking for a manager of corporate communications, who will bring exceptional communication and writing skills to the job. Position ideally located located in the OCF offices in Orange County California, however for the right individual we will consider a person in another geographic location. Communications are the basis of successful relationship building. These are with our corporate partners, donors, research institutions, treatment facilities and private practicing doctors and individuals. The person in this position will be the central hub of the foundation's communications and outreach in many areas. The ability to quickly learn the scientific information reated to oral cancer, as well as the demographic and national oral cancer paradigm issues will be paramount to getting up to speed and effective quickly. Assistant communications manager, Internet

There will be a part time position also related to communications, working on press releases, web site content and research, and out reach programs and correspondence to potential corporate partners and private supporters. Must have a strong understanding of the web, and the use of it to build networks, and disseminate information through venues as divers as our own web site to videos on YouTube. A unique position with huge responsibilities to spread the word about oral cancer through web based opportunities. Director of Development

This position is for and EXPERIENCED individual with a strong history of non profit development work. This experience does not have to come from the realm of disease related non profit development. The foundation relies completely on benevolent individuals, corporations, and other foundations for its financial survival. You will have experience in creating the relationships with these individuals that will sustain the growth of the foundation's work in raising public awareness, developing professional involvement in early discovery and diagnosis, and in our research sponsorship endeavors. While a person in Orange County CA is preferred, the foundation is open to working with an individual in another geographic location who may work from their residence. Salary commensurate with experience.

Event and State Chapter Coordinator

In the summer of 2008 OCF will begin to establish state chapters of the foundation. These will be hosted by individuals and institutions involved in the head and neck cancer arena. Individual state chapters will conduct free screening events, awareness walk/run/ride events, interface with local medical and dental professional society chapters, and state government agencies. They will work with a network of oral cancer survivors and family member volunteers to coordinate support functions and educational opportunities. An exceptional individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build networks of institutions and individuals with a common goal is necessary for this position. While a person in Orange County CA is preferred, the foundation is open to working with an individual in another geographic location who may work from their residence. Grant for Web content creation.

A new grant will be offered for the creation of the restoration and rehabilitation content for the OCF web site.  Doctors, nursing professionals, and others with experience in the restorative aspect of a patient's journey through this disease will be considered for this grant. You MUST have excellent written communication skills. It is possible that a person with experience in writing technical medical articles, and who posses the ability to research the information and convert highly technical content into easily understandable and approachable language will be considered even if they do not come out of the world of clinical cancer experience. Initial grant in the amount of $5000, with additional grants available after completion of the first benchmark.
