This resources page will provide you with dates and locations for current and upcoming oral cancer related events. They include: lectures and seminars, continuing education courses for doctors and other healthcare professionals, manufacturer's courses, trade shows at which there is a speaker on oral cancer, public cancer screening events, public participation events such as walks, and air dates for TV and radio media events. Oral Cancer Awareness Month is April each year !!!
A national cooperative effort is being undertaken by multiple foundations, charities, teaching institutions, and treatment facilities to raise oral and head and neck cancer awareness. The dates of these future "Awareness Events " in which media coverage, walks for awareness, free screenings, and other activities will occur can be obtained by contacting the involved organizations listed below, or if your organization wishes to become and active participant in an existing event, or start a new one, PLEASE CONTACT OCF EARLY IN THE PROCESS. We can help you organize your event, get you proper literature/handouts, help you write your releases, screening forms, and referral forms, show what has worked well for us in the past after many years of organizing events, all with the goal of seeing that you have the best attended and most productive event possible. Go to the About us section of the web site and the "contact us" link there to get email address and phone numbers for the OCF administration and event offices. We also have some state chapter now forming in 2008 that may be of assistance to you.
